LVM Zemes dzīles Mineral Extraction Sites have Wood Siftings Available

The time is approaching, when in road construction, mixtures of crushed stone and sand for the construction of constructive layers of roads will become indispensable. At ten LVM Zemes dzīles mineral extraction sites, wood siftings are currently available; it is a homogeneous product obtained during the production process and ensures the basic construction of a particularly high-quality road surface.

“When using wood siftings in road construction, there is no risk of bumping into oversized fraction materials. Moreover, customers get not only a product of uniform quality, but also the loading process is more convenient, which in turn reduces costs and shortens the time of removal of aggregates. In addition, a more accurate distribution of particles allows wood siftings to be used in the construction of a reinforced frost-resistant layer of the road surface or for the production of products, for example, concrete pavement,” says Rinalds Šimens, Quality Specialist at LVM Zemes dzīles.

To minimize customer risks and ensure product compliance with quality criteria, LVM has certified the control of the production process of mineral materials and their mixtures at 50 mineral extraction sites; wood siftings are currently available at ten sites.

As part of the implemented production process control, LVM Zemes dzīles issues performance declarations and CE markings for the prepared products, which are further used to confirm the quality and origin of the raw materials, for the coordination of the building materials used at the construction sites, as well as in the production processes of higher added value products. The quality of products offered to customers is regularly evaluated at the LVM Zemes dzīles testing and research laboratory, the operation of which is accredited in accordance with the requirements of LVS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

After evaluating the customer's needs and the relevant situation, it is possible to prepare certified mixtures of mineral materials also according to an individual customer's order.
