After a two-year break, the largest forest information event in the Baltic States – the Latvian Forest Days – will take place in Latvia’s State Forest Nature Park in Tērvete on 27 and 28 May, bringing together nature friends, families, students and forest industry professionals.
We encourage every forest and wood industry company, educational institution, public organization, and other enthusiasts to participate in this event with their forest information stands. To apply for the participation in the event, which is attended by several thousand visitors every year, we invite those interested to contact the event coordinator Normunds Namnieks by 8 April 2022, by calling 29181734 or sending an e-mail to
In turn, schools will be invited to apply for the participation in the event from 12 April to 16 May on the website www.latvijasmezadienas.lv, where the information on the planned activities will be gradually supplemented.
Normunds Namnieks, Event Coordinator and Project Manager at LVM Recreation and Hunting, tells why it is worth participating in the event:
“This year, the Forest Industry Festival will once again bring together visitors and workshop organizers in the new thematic part of LVM Nature Park in Tērvete – the World of Kurbads. It is a great opportunity for industry representatives to share their experience, make new friends and tell thousands of people about them and what they do. The large number of forest and nature-related organizations in recent years has allowed us to tell much more about the forest as our most important natural resource to a very wide audience, revealing more about the principles of environmentally friendly and sustainable forest management.”
More than 12 000 people visited the Latvian Forest Days of 2019, getting to know the forest from different points of view: discovering the mysterious depths and minerals of the earth, getting acquainted with the exciting work of arborists, participating in demonstrations of the Latvian Club of Stag Callers, and watching hunting dog parades. Modern forest management and road construction equipment attracted a lot of visitors. The participants also had an opportunity to make their own bird cages and feather ornaments. By visiting the various stands of forest-related educational institutions, the youngest visitors had the opportunity to get to know and find out which professions are most demanded in the forest and timber industry today.
The Latvian Forest Days are organised by JSC “Latvia's State Forests” in cooperation with Dobele Municipality Council, the Latvian Forest Owners Association, the Latvian Wood Industry Federation and the Association “Zaļās mājas”.
