Latvia is a country where the forest has always been honoured - we sing about it, we relax in it, we work in it and we constantly learn about it. Also this year, JSC "Latvia's State Forests" (LVM) calls on nature friend to apply for the Open Forest Days.

The Open Forest Days is a traditionally rich cycle of events aimed not only at spending time in forest clean-ups, but above all at raising public awareness of responsible and sustainable forest management. This year, forest clean-up works, improvement of recreational facilities and planting works will take place in all LVM regions.

The participants themselves should take care of getting to the venue, as well as for some snacks, work gloves and clothing suitable for a forest visit. Please apply for the events in a timely manner, since the number of participants in each region is limited to 40 people, so preference will be given to the visitors who have first contacted the following contact persons.

Events dedicated to the Forest Days will take place throughout the year. Already on 24 and 25 May, the largest forestry event in the Baltic States
"Latvian Forest Days" will take place in Latvia's State Forests Nature Park in Tērvete. During the ambitious event, both young people and adults are invited to play an active role in more than 80 forest stops, which will be provided by various forest-related and nature-related organisations.

In the autumn, sixth-grade students throughout Latvia are invited to participate in LVM Forest Expeditions, during which they will have an opportunity to get to know the full cycle of forest management together with knowledgeable forest industry experts, as well as find out what unusual things are made of wood.
